Sri Devanathan’s Nellikuppam Thoppu Utsavam was celebrated grandly on 23rd June 2013, Sunday - Vijaya Varusha Aani Masasm pournami day. Thirumanjanam took place in the morning for Perumal and Ubhaya Nachimargal. Thereafter, Dadhiannam (curd rice) thiruppavadai took place. In the evening, Sri Devanathan started to Nellikuppam with Swasthivachanam Parayana Goshti following behind.
Perumal was taken on procession to Nellikuppam which is at a distance of 5-6 kms from Thiruvahindirapuram. There Patthi ulathhal took place and a huge crowd of devotees thronged the place.
Later in the night perumal started back. The dark night, cool breeeze and the pleasant moon light was a divine experience. Perumal returned to temple around midnight and Swami Desikan mariydai took place.
