Jaya varusha Thirupavithrotsvam was celebrated in grand manner ar Sri Kothandaramaswamy Temple, Malaiyur. Thirupavithrotsavam was performed in an elaborate manner as laid down by the principles of Pancharatra Agama for three days from 13th August to 15th August, 2014.

The Annual Pavithrtothsavam Ritual is an Agama Purificatory Process that is being followed by all the temples to expiate the lapses in the Nithya Aradhanam performed during the course of the year. Malaiyur Sri Kothanda Ramaswamy’s Pavithrothsavam commenced with Acharya-Yajamaana sankalpam followed by Vasudeva Punyahavachanam, Mrudh Sankrahanam, Thirumanjanam with 108 kalasams to Moolavar and Utsvar and PoorNaahuthi Homam in the Yaga Salai on the first day. The appropriate Veda Mantras and Prabhandam were rendered with flair by eminent scholars.

The Utsavam entered its’s second day followiing the sequence of procedures of the fiirst day with the addition of decoration of Moola and Utsva Moorthys with Pavithra Malaigal made of sacred dyed cotton threads. Special Aradhanam numbering 365 was performed with dry fruits and nuts offered to the Swami. Chanting of the concluding part of Nalayira Divya Prabhandam and Chathurveda Parayanam on the final day added value to the three days Mahothsavam, followed by Theerthavari and concluded with PoorNaahuthi Homam, Sathumurai and Special Archanai.Scores of Rama Bakthas participated in the Pavithrothsavam and got the blessings of Malaiyur
