On, 10 April 2015, Jaya Varusha Panguni Keattai : Chitirai Ther Thirunal Utsavam commences grandly at Sri Ranganathaswami temple, Srirangam, On this occasion. Sri Namperumal Purappadu from moolasthanam in the early morning and reaches Flag Hoist (Kodiyetru) mandapam.The flag (Kodi Padam) Purappadu took place followed by Flag Hoisting (Dvajarohanam/Kodiyettram) and Sri Namperumal Purappadu to Kannadi Arai. In the evening Beri thadanam was conducted. Later Sri Namperumal with Ubhaya Nachimars Thiruveedhi purappadu in Thiruchivigai. The procession goes via 4 Chithirai Streets of Srirangam and reaches Santhanu Mandapam . From there Sri Namperumal goes to Yaga salai mandapam and there Thirumanjanam Kandaruli reach back to Kannadi arai . Lots of astikas took part in the Day 1 of Chitirai thirunal and had the blessings of Divyadampatis.
