Margazhi Sravana Purappadu took place in a grand manner at Thirukannamangai Sri Bhakthavatsala Perumal Temple. On January 1st 2017, Margazhi Sravanam, Swami Desikan Masa Thirunakshatram, in the morning Visesha Thirumanjanam was performed for Swami Desikan in the midst of ghosti parayanam. Then in the evening around 5 pm Swami Desikan had Thiurveethi Purappadu. Many devotees participated in the Purappadu and received the blessings of Swami Desikan.
