The three-day annual Salakatla Padmavathi Parinayotsavam off to a colourful start at Narayanagiri Gardens in Tirumala on Monday evening. TTD has cancelled arjitha sevas like arjitha brahmotsavam,Vasanthotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva from Monday to Wednesday following the festival. The processional deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy was taken to the Narayanagiri Gardens on Gaja Vahana on the first day, while His two consorts adorned with special jewels followed Him to the tastefully decorated Narayanagiri Gardens on palanquins.Traditional events which are usually performed during the vedic weddings including welcoming each other(Edurkolu), throwing of floral balls by bride and bridegroom at each other (Pubantata) etc. have been performed which has provided a feast to the eyes of thousands of pilgrims who converged in the gardens to witness the celestial fete daring heavy down pour. TTD’s Dharma Prachara Parishad and Annamacharya Project organised cultural and devotional programmes in the gardens on this occasion. At the end of the celestial wedding fire crackers were burnt in the open area which stood as a special attraction for the entire programme.Â
On the second day of the ongoing three day Annual Padmavathi  Parinayam  of Lord Venkateswara, the processional deity of Lord Malayappaswamy on ASWA VAHANAM and His consorts on Pallaki were taken out in a grand procession from Sri vari temple to Padmavathi  Parinayam  mandapam in Narayanagiri Gardens at Tirumala on Tuesday evening. Later temple priest performed parinayam  to Lord and Goddess.
