The Senior pontiff of the famous Tirumala temple of Lord Venkateswar Sri Periyakoil Kelviyappan Sadagopa Ramanuja Jeeyar along with his Junior pontiff Sri Narayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar on Sunday (08/07/2012) ceremoniously commenced their Chaturmasa Deeksha atop the hill town.
After offering prayers at the Bhu-Varaha swamy temple both the seers reached in a grand procession to the main temple of Lord Venkateswara from where they reached the venue- the Pedda Jeeyangar Mutt. Prominent among others who were present include the TTD Chairman K. Bapiraju, EO LV Subramanyam, JEO KS Srinivasa Raju. Later the four-months vrata commenced amidst chanting of vedic hymns by over 3000 veda pundits from across the country who convered to witness the religious event.
