Thoopul Swami Desikan Manmadha Varusha Thirunakshatra Mahotsavam Day 7 : Thiruther

As part of the ongoing Swami Desikan Purattasi Thiruvona Nakshatra Varashika Mahotsavam at Thoopul Sri Vilakkoli Perumal Sannidhi, Yesterday, 21 September 2015; Manmadha Varusha Purattasi Moolam; Day 7 of Utsavam was celebrated in grand manner. In the morning,Swami Desikan had purappadu on Thiruther. Thiruther Purappadu goes procession in the maada veedhis of Kanchipuram. Many Srivaishnava took part in the goshti parayanam during Ther purappadu. Lot of astikas took part in the day 7 morning Purappadu and had the blessings of Swami Desikan and Divyadampatis.

During this Puratasi month Desikar tirunakshriram is celebrated. Daily there will be one Tirukolam in the morning and Desikar comes from Thoopul take a pradkshinam in the Maada veedhis and then goes back to Thoopul only to come in the evening in a vahanam. This time he comes straight to Varadaraja perumal koil entrance and after mangalasasanam he goes back to Thoopul. On the 7th day of the Urchavam is Ther. Hence the morning Tirukolam was not there. That is the reason why there was no vahanam on the 7th day evening and Swami Desikan comes in a Tirukolam.
Today’s Thiru Ther was offered by Prakartham Simath Andavan swamigal for Swami Desikan. As it is the tradition of Srivaishnavas to offer anything he gets (whether it is new clothes or food or vehicle or for that matter anything he gets) offer to Perumal first and then only he accepts it. Swami Desikan also followed this tradition. The Ther He got Swami wanted Perumal to have HIS first ride. Hence during last Sravanam Deepa Prakasar came in the Ther followed in a Pallaku by Swami Desikan. In the whole purapadu of last Sravanam Swami Desikan enjoyed the Ther and Deepa Prakasar. Now today this Sravanam Swami majestically standing and blessing the mortals those who cannot come to Thoopul, here He comes to your door step to bless you.

The 10-day utsavam is usually celebrated in a grand manner with Thirveedhi purappadu for Swami Desikan on different vahanams on all the days, both morning and evening. Thoopul is located within 1 km distance from Kanchi Varadharaja Perumal Sannidhi.
