On 11/02/2018, Sunday, as part of Swami Desikan’s 750th Thirunakshatra Mahotsavam visesha thiruveedhi purapadu was organized by Swami Vedanta Desikan 750th Commemoration Trust at Thiruneermalai Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam. Swami Desikan decorated beautifully with colorful and fresh flower garlands whose fragrance filled the air. With beautiful vastrams and thiruvabharanams Swami Desikan thiruveedhi purapadu took place in ” Mangalagiri ” Sripadham thangigal from Mylapore, Nanganallur, Perungalathur and other areas participated in the event. A grand and separate goshti for Desika Prabhandham, Sostra Padam, Yajur vedam, Sama vedam participated in the utsavam. Since it was Sarva Ekadasi devotees were provided with noi ( broken rice ) kadhambam, dhodhiyonam and kesari. Delighted devotees waiting anxiously for the purapadu to stop over at their place. Sparing over two kilometers the purapadu was conducted around the foothills of Thiruneer malai.
