Today, August 19, 2013; Vijaya Avani Uthiradam, is the 29th day of Chathurmasya vratham for HH 46th Srimath Azhagiyasingar, Srivan Sathakopa Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Maha Desikan. Last evening Pradosha Aradhanam took place at Dasavatharan Sannidhi and at the Swarna Mandapam. Today morning, Abhigamanam, Theertham, SriSathari and Prasadha Viniyogam (Karuveppilai rice) took place on time and several shishyas had Samashrayanam and Mantropadesam. Devotees offered dandavath pranamams and obtained precious Mantrakshatai before leaving.
As mentioned earlier, the Kainkaryaparas work efficiently and in coordination to make things happen perfectly. The Sannidhi Aradhakars are the senior-most and are assisted by the sannidhi paricharakas. They assist Srimath Azhagiyasingar during Abhigamanam and perform Ijyai and Panaka Aradhanam. Then we have Ashrama Kainkaryaparas. They have the closest personal contact with Srimath Azhagiyasingar. They are incharge of preparing water for Nirratal. preparing and washing kashayam. They set up phones for Tele-Upanyasam, hold and set up mikes and attend to the needs of Srimath Azhagiyasingar. Mrith Kainkaryam is also in the Ashramam. There are two kainkaryaparas for this and they clean the ashramam, carry Mantrakshatai tray, umbrella etc. Thaligai for Srimath Azhagiyasingar is called Alankaram. There are two swamis who work in turns and prepare prasadam for HH. Those who are interested in sponsoring for Alankaram can do so. Thaligai for Malola Aradhanam is prepared in Thirumadapalli. There are six /seven kainkaryaparas for this and they work all seven days. No “murai” in this department and they are on duty all days. If the occasion is special and the crowds are very large extra help is arranged.
Ugranam is incharge of groceries. They hand over supplies as required by Madapalli, supply leaves during goshti viniyogam and Thadeearadhanai and take care to ensure that each leaf distributed is washed and cleaned indivually. Then there is a group of three or four ladies who help in cutting vegetables, grating coconut, cleaning lamps (not the ones near the swarna mandapam), cleaning and making kolams, removing leaves after thadeearadhanai and cleansing the place with cowdung.
This Madapalli kainkaryam has a very important place in our Sampradhaya. Swami Desikan calls our Sampradhaya as Mahanasa Sampradhaya. This is particularly true of Nrisimha and Nrisimha aradhakas. Special care is taken of devotees visiting and all kainkaryaparas pay attention to their food requirements and food is even packed for those travelling long distances. The Prasadams offered to Sri Malola parivara are out of this world. The highest compliment one gets for cooking something well is that it is like the kuzhambu or sathumadhu of Srimatham. The menu is planned with the consent of Srimath Azhagiyasingar. The Abhigamanam prasadam is usually Dadhiannam but there are Chitrannams or pongal or upma on some occasions. For Thadeearadhanai there is a kuzhambu, sathumadhu, two vegetable preparations, kannamadhu, a fried item like vadai, bhaji or pakoda, a sweet and a savoury and buttermilk. For Panaka aradhanam the prasadam is sakkarai pongal, dadhiannam, sundal and a kuzhambu or masiyal but on Pradosham the preparation is Venpongal called Pradosha pongal. All this talk about prasadam is sure to make one’s mouth water. So try to make it to Srirangam Dasavatharan Sannidhi and get the bhagyam of Srimath Azhagiyasingar darshanam and the darshanam of all the deities in our Swarna Mandapam.
