On 26th January 2018, Sunday Tiruallikeni wore a festive look. A grand and spectacular purapadu was held for Sri Ahobila Mutt Swami Desikan, as part of Swami Desikan’s 750th Avatara Mahotsavam. The day started of with “Ghantai” ( Bell ) purapadu from Mylapore Sri Vedanta Desikar Devastanam to Triplicane Sri Ahobila Mutt. Later, HH Srimad 46th Azagiyasingar of Sri Ahobila Mutt, Sri Ranganatha Yateendra Mahadesikan arrived to grace the occasion and presided over the goshti. The grand purapadu started with Swami Desikan in mangalagiri and Ganthai in thanga Kedayam and Swami Adivan Satakopan presiding over the goshti. With a grand Desika Prabhandha, Sostrapada Goshti, Yajur vedam and sama vedam the purapadu was delight to watch. A group of ladies from the godha goshti was laying kolams throughout the four maadaveedhi. Sripadham thangigals from Mylapore, Perungalathur, Westmambalam, Nanganallur and from other places took part in the event. Below are some of the pictures taken during the utsavam.
